Child Protect, Children’s Advocacy Center’s 7th Annual Swingin’ Fore Kids Golf Tournament fundraiser was held on Friday, November 10, 2017 to benefit child abuse victims and their families in the Montgomery area. Over 150 golfers from across the state of Alabama spent a beautiful day out on the greens of Capitol Hill along the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in support of this worthy cause. This golf tournament has become the largest fundraiser of the year for Child Protect, with the proceeds going directly into our programs of forensic interviewing of child abuse victims, and the crucial follow-up counseling of child abuse victims that allows children to heal and later become productive members of society.

The tournament is presented by Dr. David Bronner of RSA, along with Chappell Hill and Young Stevenson of STIFEL. Hole-in-one sponsors were Eddie Stivers of Stivers Ford and Vision Insurance.

In 2016, our agency served over 620 children in our community when there were allegations of abuse with 54% of those cases being child sex abuse. Child Protect provides a forensic interview for law enforcement and Department of Human Resources investigators when there are allegations of sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect, when children may be witnesses to violent crimes such as murder, among other things.
