9th Annual Chairs for Children

Child Protect hosted our 9th annual Chairs for Children fundraising event on April 28, 2016 at Union Station in the Visitor's Center. This was an especially exciting year for us because we moved venues, having previously held the event at ServisFirst bank.... we had just outgrown the space. We were very pleased with our ability to accommodate guests better with the open floor plan!! See photo below,

Chairs for Children features a live and silent auction of children’s chairs painted by local artists along with auction items from local businesses. This year featured artists included Carol Barksdale, Barbara Davis, Wally Lowery, Ruthie Carlson, Shirley Esco, Julia Wallace, Jamie Mitchell, Natalie Stanley, Joan DiLaura, and emerging artist Gina Budny, among others.

This is our signature event as well as one of our major funding sources. All money raised by Chairs for Children go right into our agency's direct services (forensic interviews, counseling, & family advocacy). Our presenting sponsor was ServisFirst, and catering provided by Jennie Weller Catering & Events. Beasley Allen was our Rocking Chair sponsor. Our Porch Chair sponsors included JK Lowder Family Foundation, Jim Wilson & Associates, and Burger King. Major Oil Company, Inc, BMW of Montgomery, the Law Offices of Roianne Conner, and Whitfield Foods, Inc. served as our Kitchen Chair sponsors. We are very grateful for each and every one of these companies and all the individuals who continue to attend and support our event!
