The first quarter of our 2017-2018 fiscal year has been nothing short of incredible!! The support we have received has rendered our staff and boards speechless. We are grateful for the many individuals and businesses who choose to give to the community THROUGH our agency. You all are truly making a difference in the lives of children in Montgomery.

Here is a short recap of everything we had going on in October and November, that surged some of the donations we received. (December to be continued.)

On October 27th, we partnered with Blackfinn Ameripub and WAKA Kickball for the Blackfinn Ameripub Horror Story Halloween Party. For the last five years or so our Junior Board has put on their own party, but this year it made more sense to join forces for the BEST party ever... and it was a ton of fun! We are overwhelmed by the continued support from both Blackfinn and the kickball league, and are looking forward to a long partnership with each of them.

On Saturday, November 4th, Alabama News Network held their first Superhero 5k and asked us to help with volunteers and also be the benefiting charity... so of course, it was a YES!! This event was SO FUN! Everyone, old and young gathered at Riverfront Park decked out in their favorite superhero costumes, giving the kids an extra chance to wear them after Halloween.  The race featured a 5k, a one mile fun run, and a costume contest. It was such an honor to be a part of this race because we feel that we get to work with the real superheroes everyday, law enforcement investigators and Department of Human Resources case workers. We are already looking forward to this year's race!!

The very next day, we helped the WAKA Kickball league with their inaugural Kickin' for Kids Kickball Tournament at Range 231 N. Eight teams participated in the tournament that stared on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We had a blast and can't wait for the next one.

On Friday, November 10, we were out at Robert Trent Jones Capitol Hill all day for our 7th Annual Swingin' Fore Kids Golf Tournament presented by Dr. David Bronner and STIFEL. We had a great day out on the course for what has become our largest fundraiser of the year. Our 2017 tournament raised over $16,000 more than in 2016. Thank you to everyone who sponsored, came to play, and volunteered. To the staff at Capitol Hill, I owe you!!!! You guys are truly the easiest people to work with and are SO GOOD at your jobs, you make my life so much easier. Mark your calendars for next year's tournament on November 2, 2018.
