Counseling Services

Counseling is an important part of the healing process for traumatized children. Counseling helps children understand what has happened and helps them deal with their thoughts, feelings and perceptions that surround the traumatic event. Children who complete counseling following a traumatic event often have:

~ Decreased level of fear or anxiety
~ Increased ability to protect self from harmful situations
~ Decreased level of anger or hostility
~ Increase in self-esteem
~ Decreased risk of offending

Child Protect offers play therapy, teen counseling and group counseling for children ages 3-17 years old who have been interviewed at Child Protect. All of our counseling services are free of charge.
